Howdy friends, just a quick update before I head back to Lincoln. Bacteria in the bloodstream. Ya, did that get your attention?! It's a good thing though, really! Let me back up a bit. Last week my dear friend Erin arrived from South Carolina, just in time for some of the coldest temperatures we've had in decades. Luckily we missed most of it when we went to Lincoln to see Dr. Sara.
Sara did quite the number on us and I was unexpectedly miserable. It's good though because some of the (as Sara calls them) "big mamma bugs" are getting out of the depths of my muscle tissue. What this looks like is bacteria in my bloodstream. Lots of fevers, some pretty bad pain and general nastiness. We ended up staying there an extra day and Sara's having us come back Monday through Wednesday this week to keep on top of things and get the bacteria out before it can resettle anywhere else.
All that to say, we haven't had a chance to do much fun stuff while Erin's been here, but today we did get out for a fun mini-adventure to some beautiful places. We've enjoyed hanging out in front of the fireplace watching movies. Tomorrow we leave again for Lincoln. Please pray that we can make the long car ride without too much pain and that Sara would be able to do everything she needs to do to help us get better.
Thanks friends. We appreciate the prayers and we can feel them. It's been a rough week with more to come this next. However, we know this is "productive misery" and ultimately for our good. I'm too sick to go to the conference I was going to go to for work out in Colorado later this month, but that also means Erin can stay a few extra days. Please pray that we would feel well enough to get out and do some fun stuff while she's here. We would love to go sledding, ice fishing, make a snowman and a snow angel...all that fun stuff my poor southern friend has never experienced! The good new is today she had a brat and sauerkraut for the first time so she's off to a good Wisconsin start!
