Wisconsin Wedding

Hello friends! I know you are impressed to hear from me again so quickly! I have some good news that I would like to share with you. On Tuesday, December 4, I got a new sister! Yup, my brother Isaac married Brooklyn and I was able to fly home to surprise them and be there for their wedding. I was just home for Thanksgiving and did not think that I would be able to come home again for the wedding. However, my work was amazing and gave me a couple days off when dad was able to get me a ticket home. I flew home Tuesday morning. I got home just in time to hide in the closet where my brother's suit was hanging before he got home. He came in to hang up a new shirt he got and I jumped out and surprised him! It was great - he was so surprised and excited that I was there. We got ready and met Brook and her family at the courthouse. The wedding was very nice and we were pleased that God was not left out of the public wedding ceremony at our county courthouse. We then all went out to eat dinner at one of our favorite places to eat - the Tokyo House. It is one of those places that make the food in front of you. We had a great time and I was so happy that I could be there for their special day. They want to have a bigger, fancy wedding this spring/summer and invite friends and family.

God also blessed me with a beautiful snowstorm when I was home! It has been a long time since I have seen snow like that as it was so warm last Christmas when I was home. It was so beautiful and made it feel like Christmas. It is strange to have a Christmas tree up in my apartment in Columbia when it is in the 70's and 80's this week!

I also wanted to share with you how encouraged I was at church this morning. Pastor Travis talked about the Great Commission from Matthew 28:16-20. I was reminded again of how the mission is the Lord's and not ours. I cannot do this in my own strength. As I look at all that I need to do before I leave this summer and all of the money that I need to pay off, it is easy to become overwhelmed. But my Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He is the one who is sending me and He is the one who will provide for me. It is not my job to have the resources, it is my job to follow His leading and as I do He will provide as He has so many times in the past. Thanks Pastor Travis for letting God use you today to speak to my heart.

May you all have a renewed sense of wonder at what the Lord is doing all around you. May you be encouraged today and praise the Lord, no matter how overwhelming your circumstances may be!

Amen! I am glad the Lord encouraged you. It is awesome to see God working in your life! And it is comforting to know that our Father is able to provide all our needs in Christ Jesus! (Sorry for all the exclamations :) Also Congratulations to your brother! I am glad you were able to make the trip. But I have to tell you, seeing that snow makes me thank the Lord for the 80% day we gad today! - Travis
