Have you had a good start to 2011? It is hard to believe that in a few short hours it will be February already. To be completely honest January was a blur. I worked, had meetings, watched football, had more meetings, went to appointments, watched more football, and got to hang out with friends which is always wonderful! A group of us "young" girls got together and that was lots of fun. It had been way too long since our last get-together. We talked, played games, shared a meal and laughed a LOT! Ahhh, laughter is good for the soul!
As I look into February I am slightly overwhelmed...okay, maybe really overwhelmed! I would greatly appreciate your prayers. On Saturday I will be leaving for a Biblical Counseling Conference in Lafayette, Indiana. It will be one week of long days and intense training. I keep telling myself that I really am looking forward to this! There are about 20 of us from our church who will be attending. I fully believe that the Bible contains the answers to any situation we may be going through. I am really looking forward to learning how to use the Bible in a counseling setting so that I can help others and "self-medicate" as well!
My biggest concern during this week is my health. Long days of intense concentration do not mix so well with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease. This past week I have felt bad. I am not sure if it is the weather or the stress building up or what, but I have been in a lot of pain and I have been completely exhausted. This is why I am nervous for next week. I really just want to go run away to some cabin in the mountains!! All that said, I know that this is going to be a great conference and I am confident that God wants me to go. If He wants me to be there, He can help me feel good enough to really be there. Would you pray with me, that...
I will not have muscle and joint pain
I will have the ability to concentrate and listen well
I will have strength and energy for each moment of each day
I don't have any issues with my asthma
God will reveal to me my role in Biblical Counseling at church
God will do anything necessary to teach me what He wants me to learn
God will do anything necessary to help me grow more into His likeness
Please pray for the others going as well. I am not the only one going that has some health problems and we are looking to God to sustain us and teach us all.
Thank you dear friends for praying for me and loving me and supporting me through the good times and the hard times. I want to end this blog update on a happy note so here it goes...
