1 Down, 1 To Go

Hey y'all!

As you know, I was back in Wisconsin the end of July. I had an amazing time with friends and family. When I was there, I had my consecration interview. As a woman worker in the C&MA, I do not go through ordination, I go through a process called consecration. I had to read books, write papers, record a couple of sermons or teachings, things like that. The last step of the process is a big interview where I am asked a bunch of theological questions. I was so nervous, but I ended up passing - Praise the Lord! My friend Emily had her first interview with the CMA, an accreditation interview, the same day. She passed as well and she is now a missionary candidate. The picture above is of the two of us very excited to see each other and be able to go through our big interviews together.

This Wednesday I have what is called a Pre-Appointment Interview. I will be interviewed by my candidate director, another man from the national office and a couple from the district. This interview will cover my psychological evaluations that I had to take this summer (sorry, I'm not officially crazy...unofficially maybe!), some theological material, as well as just talking and seeing if I'm ready to head overseas next summer full time. We will also talk seriously about where I will be placed. Hopefully by the time I leave the interview I will have a pretty good idea where I will be heading.

I am excited for this interview, but also a bit nervous of course. This is the last major interview before I get appointed officially sometime in October or November I think. I have been working towards this for so long and it is crazy to think that I might actually be here. It is terrifying and exciting all at the same time!

There are still some major walls that need to come down before I would go overseas this summer. The biggest one is my school loans. I have several thousand dollars in debt from my year in seminary that I need to pay off before I leave. This is not humanly possible. Please pray with me for the Lord to provide as only He can do.

I would appreciate your prayers for this Wednesday as well. My interview is in Charlotte, North Carolina at 9:00am. Charlotte is about 2 hours from Columbia so I'll have to get up pretty early that morning to drive there.

I appreciate y'all so much. Thanks for your prayers for me. Work has been going well. It was rough at first, but they are finally giving me work to do so I am busy throughout the day and that is excellent! Thanks for your prayers, the Lord has provided me with a well paying job that I think I will end up enjoying.

Until next time...
